Audition Information and Requirements

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for the St. Mary’s University Department of Music and Theatre Arts! Please complete the registration form below to secure your audition slot.

Before you register, please review the audition requirements carefully:

For performers/actors:
Prepare two contrasting monologues of your choice (1–2 minutes each) or one two-minute monologue and a song of your choice.

For designers and technicians:
Provide a portfolio, physical example, or renderings of your work. Examples may include garments sewn for performances, photos of lighting designs, run-of-show notes or other production materials.

Accompaniment:
If you plan to perform a song, you must bring your own backing track. A Bluetooth speak will be provided by the Department of Music and Theatre Arts.

Selection Process

St. Mary’s University Theatre Faculty will evaluate all auditions based on skill, technique, and artistic expression. Students selected to receive a scholarship will be notified via email.
